- Build positive relationships with Neo Response team members in order to communicate effectively and stabilize newborns requiring resuscitation within the first minutes of life
- Act as a resource and support peers with unit processes such as IV access, lab draw, code response to help our patients and families receive the best care possible
- Provide feedback and build positive collaborative relationships through debriefing sessions in order to continuously improve the resuscitation process and the care of the most complex cases
- Coordinate the flow of patients from labor and delivery through multitasking and organizational skills to allocate neo response resources efficiently to provide adequate care to all the newborns that require resuscitation or emergent needs

Provide care for all central lines throughout the entire newborn center at Texas Children’s Hospital.
- Created an algorithm to help approximate the number of FLASH RNs needed to complete various central line tasks and appropriately allocate RN resources to the FLASH role
- Administered all central line medications and fluids. Provided central line specific procedures such as cap changes, fluid changes, and full line changes in order to reduce the number CLABSIs throughout the newborn center
- Helped implement the FLASH role throughout all NICU units by educating staff on the new process for medication administration and central line care
- Recruited and oriented new RNs into specialized role in order to enable them to provide the same level of quality care to our patients
- Acted as a resource for peers regarding all central line needs and procedures to reduce medication errors and fluid incompatibility
- Provided education to staff through central line check offs and provided feedback to help improve the quality of care provided in all units and reduced CLABSI incidents
- Collaborated information in CLABSI meetings to improve central line care and procedures as well as highlighted potential improvements that could prevent future incidents
